Sales Representative, Unified Mission Management Software​

As a Sales Representative at Continuum Space, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our Unified Mission Management (UMM) software platform, primarily targeted towards commercial space companies. This position demands a proactive approach to understanding and fulfilling client needs, along with a deep comprehension of the space industry’s dynamics.

Continuum, leveraging technologies initially developed for NASA by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), an operating division of the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), empowers clients to expedite the launch of satellite payloads, space vehicles, and new services. Our innovative approach minimizes capital costs and overcomes the challenges of complex space engineering problems, outdated tools, and disconnected workflows. The UMM software unifies the entire mission lifecycle, from ideation and design to in-space operations, thereby enhancing the capabilities of space exploration and commercialization.

Objectives of this Role:

  • Grow Continuum’s UMM revenue by closing deals and ensuring alignment with the company’s strategy.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy, aligning with the company’s vision and market opportunities.
  • Actively engage with and understand the needs of commercial space companies to drive the adoption of the UMM software platform.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitor offerings to identify opportunities for differentiation and expansion.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Continuum’s leadership to identify and target potential clients in the space industry, presenting the unique benefits and capabilities of the UMM software.
  • Proactively engage with customers to understand and shape their current and future needs, requirements, and policies.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals, including negotiations. 
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering, marketing, and product management teams to align sales strategies with product capabilities and developments.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to shape effective sales strategies and understand client needs.
  • Represent Continuum at industry conferences, meetings, and networking events, enhancing brand visibility and business opportunities.
  • Develop detailed sales reports, forecasts, and strategies, continually refining approaches based on market feedback and results.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have 2+ years’ experience in an enterprise sales role, within an aerospace-related sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and negotiate contracts.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-growth cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with space mission management or related aerospace technologies.
  • Understanding of software development and UX principles.
  • Additional language skills relevant to key space industry markets.
