Sr Engineer, Lead for Mission Operations Systems and Ground Software
Continuum seeks a space engineer ideally with experience in operating spacecraft missions, and/or experience in building the systems to perform these activities, to lead CSS’ core capabilities development in the areas of mission and flight operations; and the implementation of these capabilities into the CSS platform.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the development of Mission Operations Systems (MOS) and Ground Data Systems (GDS) and capabilities, incl.
The relevant software architecture for telemetry, spacecraft commanding, and data processing
The integration of MOS and GDS with third-party ground service providers (e.g. AWS Ground Stations, DSN, …)
Lead the implementation of these capabilities into the Continuum toolsuite and platform (CTK), including the integration between the CTK core and third party software (e.g. AMMOS, OpenMCT) towards:
An automated mission ops capability
A seamless transition between design and operations, and vice versa
Support the overall development of the Continuum mission capability, including modules for the proprietary CTK and the integration of JPL/NASA tools within this framework for streamlined space design and operations, including but not limited to space missions for cis-lunar and interplanetary missions
Support existing Continuum contracts in Space as a Service
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Programming experience in any technical language
Experience with flight operations, including building mission operations software and/or ground data systems
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
MS or PhD in relevant fields (incl. Aerospace, Astronautical)
Experience with running spacecraft flight activities in an operational environment
Experience with JPL’s AMMOS/AIT, OpenMCT, or equivalent
Programming experience with Julia, Python, Matlab
US Citizen or US Person
Optional:
Experience with NASA mission tools (e.g. GMAT, MONTE)
Experience with space navigation
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel to vendor sites may be required
Travel to launch and test sites may be required

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
